Enterprise in Place returns to Dunoon, thanks to a unique partnership approach between Dunoon Community Development Trust, POP shop enterprises CIC and Argyll & Bute Third Sector Interface

At the beginning of 2026 the team at the POP shop worked with Dunoon Community Development Trust and national partners, including the Melting Pot to develop and deliver Enterprise in Place: Dunoon. This project provided networking events and workshops supporting over 30+ women in our community who were setting up and growing businesses in the local area.

We know Dunoon is an enterprising community, but we also know that it can be hard for women, particularly women with care and health challenges, and social entrepreneurs to connect into relevant, flexible support at a local level.

That’s why we’re delighted to be teaming up with POP shop enterprises CIC and Argyll & Bute Third Sector Interface to continue the Enterprise in Place approach to support, and again provide a series of accessible events and learning sessions.

This 6-month programme will run from September 2026 to March 2027 and will be delivered with the support of the Pathways Eco-system Community Fund. We will also be working closely with Business Gateway (Argyll and Bute) and other partners to bring resources to Dunoon.

What to expect

The Enterprise in Place programme will offer Breakfast Connect sessions with TSI and a series of locally delivered workshops and events focused on key sectors including: Heritage, Tourism and Food.

“At the heart of this programme will be events that bring people together to learn from peers and exchange ideas” says Ann Campbell, Dunoon Community Development Trust’s partnership manager. ‘’We will be using our community-run events platform What’s On Dunoon to market these events, and will be working closely with the team at the POP shop to make sure the programme is relevant and accessible to people in our community”.
