Our Work

Our story
Community connections

Connecting Dunoon

We connect people, ideas and resources.

To improve the quality of life for everyone who lives, works and studies in Dunoon.

We do this by:

  • bringing people together,

  • sharing information,

  • building connections,

  • encouraging collaboration,

  • developing a Local Place Plan.

Come together

Our community events encourage you to get to know other people in your community and talk about what is important to you. And you get the chance to hear about what local organisations are up to and how this may benefit you.

Soup-er Sunday

Our regular Soup-er Sundays, hosted at the Dunoon Burgh Hall, offers a chance to have a blether with friends and neighbours, meet new people and hear what’s happening in Dunoon.

Volunteer Coordination

We also coordinate and share volunteer opportunities that are good for your wellbeing and for our town.

Sharing information

Sharing news, information and events from Dunoon and beyond.

Regular updates via email DCDT

Gatherings, new initiatives, training, community-led work opportunities; we gather and share news for and from our community.

What’s on Dunoon

From jumble sales to theatre nights, our community-run website shares what’s happening in Dunoon.

Do you have community news you’d like to share?

Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum

Building connections

Through our close relationship with SURF, Scotland’s Regeneration Forum, we make links with national bodies and policymakers.

This helps us to:

  • share Dunoon’s successes,

  • request support to develop new initiatives,

  • highlight issues affecting our town with those who could help make change.

Encouraging collaboration

We do this by bringing people together to form networks and working groups to work on shared goals. Those networks and groups include:

  • Dunoon Town Team network, for people whose work has a regeneration focus.

  • Active travel network, for those involved in walking, wheeling and cycling travel.

  • Greener Dunoon network, for those involved in food growing, gardens and nature-based initiatives.

  • Supporting enterprise network, for those involved in supporting business and social enterprises in Dunoon.

  • Working groups, to develop new initiatives as identified through the local engagement and local engagement and consultation.
