-
Training, information sharing and social events to keep volunteers connected.
The Volunteering for Wellbeing programme provides a variety of accessible, practical opportunities that help people to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to become involved in local regeneration efforts.

The Volunteering for Wellbeing co-ordinator, Barbara Henderson, works with individuals to identify volunteering and training opportunities that match their interests and availability.

Alongside volunteering, people are also encouraged to meet regularly with other participants to share food (cake), and learn more about their local area and the work of Dunoon Community Development Trust.
What local challenge is this project addressing?
We know from our research that people living in Dunoon and the wider area of Cowal can feel quite isolated and sometimes frustrated about having a lack of agency to effect positive change at a local level.
This flexible programme of support is designed to help people develop their own skills and their connections to the community through volunteering.

Over time, the growing team of volunteers is playing an increasingly active role in the work of Dunoon Community Development Trust. They are contributing to positive change across a range of projects including: What’s On Dunoon, Grow Food Grow Dunoon and Dunoon on the Move.
