Our approach

Our story
Community connections

Connecting Dunoon

We connect people, ideas and resources.

To improve the quality of life for everyone who lives, works and studies in Dunoon.

We do this by:

  • bringing people together,

  • sharing information,

  • building connections,

  • encouraging collaboration,

  • developing a Local Place Plan.

Come together

Our community events encourage you to get to know other people in your community and talk about what is important to you. And you get the chance to hear about what local organisations are up to and how this may benefit you.

Volunteer Coordination

We also coordinate and share volunteer opportunities that are good for your wellbeing and for our town.

Our mission is to keep people informed, involved and inspired

Regular updates via email DCDT

Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum

Building connections

Through our close relationship with SURF, Scotland’s Regeneration Forum, we make links with national bodies and policymakers.

This helps us to:

  • share Dunoon’s successes,

  • request support to develop new initiatives,

  • highlight issues affecting our town with those who could help make change.

Encouraging collaboration

We do this by bringing people together to form networks and working groups to work on shared goals. Those networks and groups include:

  • Dunoon Town Team, for people whose work has a regeneration focus.

  • Active travel network, for those involved in walking, wheeling and cycling travel.

  • Working groups, to develop new initiatives as identified through the local engagement and local engagement and consultation.
