More information

  • What’s On Dunoon: Venue information collector.

  • Where: In and around Dunoon

  • When: This is a flexible volunteer role that can be tailored around your availability. It is an estimated time commitment of 3-4 days over a few weeks during October - November

  • About the project: What’s on Dunoon is a website being developed by Dunoon Community Development Trust. The main goal of the site is to make local information about events and happenings accessible to local people and visitors by having information in one place.  We are also keen to use the project as a way to develop the digital skills of people living in our community. To do this, we are creating a number of flexible volunteer and training opportunities that support What’s On Dunoon.

  • Volunteer role:  To work with the Dunoon Community Development Trust Team to collect information about the many venues providing events in the local area. This information will include location, contact details, access and general facilities. Where possible images of the venue will also be collected. You will receive a full induction about the project and be supported to collect the information in a format that will then be imported into the website.

  • Requirements: An interest in talking to people locally and exploring Dunoon. An enthusiasm for the local area, some experience using a laptop and camera.

  • Helpful but not essential: Having access to a laptop or similar device. Some experience of Google forms or Excel.

  • What you will get out of volunteering: Through this role you will be part of a small, friendly team working on projects to improve the health and wellbeing of the community through connecting people to information about events in our local community.  You will become an expert in Dunoon venues!
