West Bay Wonder

West Bay is a 1000-meter esplanade along a shingle beach teaming with wildlife. It provides local people and visitors with stunning views down the Firth of Clyde. It has a cafe, miniature golf, hotels, a play park, toilets and is a brilliant spot to dip your toes in the water.

However, we all know that West Bay could be even better for people and the plants and creatures that depend on a healthy and resilient beach.

Over two weeks in June, Dunoon Community Development Trust will be leading a wide-ranging consultation about West Bay. We want to identify the small and big changes that could take place to make the Bay an even better place for our community.

With the support of local creative practitioners from POP shop enterprises CIC and Dunoon Community Council a temporary exhibition will be installed to provide information about West Bay’s rich cultural and natural heritage. The exhibition is part of a series of events and activities taking place over the next 18-months that will inform the development of a Local Place Plan for Dunoon.
