Grand Opening of The Dunoon Bothy, Fri 6 August 2021, Dunoon Pier, 10am - 4pm

The Dunoon Bothy - encouraging everyday cycling and walking


Help us celebrate the opening of the Dunoon Bothy at this free, family friendly event taking place at Dunoon Pier, Friday Aug 6, 10am - 4pm.



Full timetable:


Tours of the Dunoon Castle Site and surrounding area by Dr Manda Forster of Digventures approx 45mins. Meet at Dunoon Pier waiting room: 11.00am & 15.00pm

Dunoon Bothy Project – Led Rides Leaving at:

10.45pm 12.15pm, 1:45pm and 3pm.

Max. 8 participants per ride and each ride will last approximately one hour with a brief induction session. Participants will need a serviceable bike and a helmet (if worn).

Police Scotland – Cycle Security Marking Session 12noon – 4pm

All day:


Cowal Befrienders – Trishaw Rides 10am - 4pm

Bike Doctor Sessions – 10am – 4pm (in between trishaw shifts!)

American Years Revisited – Walking Tours of Navy Monuments in Castle Gardens – 10am – 4pm

Heal n Glen – 10am - 4pm

Try a Balance Bike – TBC

Dunoon Goes Pop – 10am - 4pm

Faith in Cowal – 10am – 4pm


Extras The lovely people at Historic Kilmun are offering free refreshments for anyone attending the Launch Event who wants to take a ride out to Kilmun!

Guided tours of Historic Kilmun take place between 10am – 4pm for £4.00 for adults, including a leaflet describing the site. There is no charge for young people under the age of 16 years.
